Holistic (Healing) Physiotherapy

For your body to function optimally, it needs to be able to compensate/adapt.

Signs that your body is finding it difficult to compensate include pain, discomfort, tension, tightness and/or restricted movement. This is your body’s way of communicating with you, informing you of a reduced capacity to adapt physically/structurally and very often emotionally and mentally.

When an emotion becomes trapped, blocked or suppressed in the organ (or its tissues) the efficiency of that organ’s function reduces and it can manifest as a physical symptom. For example, stress can load the liver which may present as right shoulder pain, anxiety can load the gallbladder which may present as stiffness in the neck.

Visceral Release Therapy

Visceral Release Therapy can be described as specific and gentle techniques on these emotionally loaded visceral (organ) tissues, and their connective tissue to improve mobility, tone and motion. Gentle releases aim to improve the functioning of individual organs, the systems the organs function within (e.g. digestive, nervous or respiratory system) with the goal to help restore harmony and vitality in the body by reducing the amount of restrictions within all the communicating tissues.
